Fee Changes Starting October 2nd

On October 2, USCIS will be updating several of the fees associated with their visa and change-of-status applications, including a new fee of $50 to apply for asylum. Fee waivers will also be limited to specific immigrant categories, including victims of crime (U visa, T visa, etc), refugees changing status, and I-360 applicants (petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant). USCIS is also encouraging people to apply and file online, with some discounts offered for doing this.
