JFCS Immigration Legal Services Wins Statewide Award

JFCS is proud to announce that our Immigration Legal Services Department has been honored with the 2026 Pennsylvania Bar Association Immigration Pro Bono Award! This award recognizes individuals and organizations that enhance access to justice for vulnerable immigrant communities by delivering critical legal assistance through pro bono representation and legal aid outreach.
Each day, our Immigration Legal Services team supports immigrants through a wide range of legal services, such as assisting with green card and citizenship applications, securing work permits, representing unaccompanied minors, and providing services for victims of crimes, like the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). They work tirelessly to help our newest neighbors navigate an incredibly complex legal system. Despite the challenges of this work, they approach it with compassion, commitment, and unwavering determination on behalf of those they represent and serve.
We’re proud of this wonderful team and are grateful for this meaningful recognition.

Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh Supports UpStreet’s School-Based Programming

Thank you to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh for generously supporting UpStreet’s school‑based mental health program.
With this investment, UpStreet, JFCS Youth Services’ teen mental wellness program, is bringing licensed clinicians and accessible mental health support directly to students at Jewish day schools, Colfax K‑8, and Taylor Allderdice High School. By meeting students where they are, our mental health professionals can help teens build skills, discuss challenges, and receive support in trusted spaces.

Help Feed Our Community with Dignity: Support the JFCS Spring Appeal
With the social safety net weakened, more people than ever are facing hunger. Over the past year, the JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry served more neighbors than in any single year in our 25‑year history.
We remain deeply committed to honoring the dignity and diverse traditions of everyone we serve. Our pantry invites individuals and families to shop for fresh produce, proteins, and staple foods that meet their cultural and dietary needs — including kosher, halal, and gluten‑free options.
Your support of the pantry helps us provide nourishing, culturally appropriate food for our neighbors with dignity and choice.
Thank you for standing with us and for honoring the dignity and traditions of all who come through our doors.
