September Support for the Food Pantry

Soap Sacks Surprise!

At JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry, every little act of kindness can go a long way in helping individuals and families facing challenging circumstances. Donations, like the knitted soap sacks provided by S.A.C.K (Supporting A Community with Kindness), not only meet basic needs but also offer comfort and dignity to those who might need them. We want to give them a big shoutout and that these small gestures create a ripple effect of positivity and compassion throughout our community.

If you are interested in learning more about how to help out in this way, visit S.A.C.K’s page at www.facebook.com/soapsack.

Spread the Sweetness of Rosh Hashanah: High Holiday Food at JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry!

JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry is excited to announce that we will be giving out Apples, Honey, and Challah to our clients in celebration of the Rosh Hashanah New Year again this year! As part of our commitment to supporting our clients during this special time, we will be providing extra ingredients this month.

Rosh Hashanah is a significant holiday in the Jewish faith. It is customary to consume apples dipped in honey and eat Challah, during this holiday.

We appreciate ALL of our volunteer’s generosity and willingness to help us feed families in need. Together, we can make this Rosh Hashanah a truly special and meaningful time for all.

Food Storage Help at the Pantry

To add to our pantry’s unique in-person shopping method. We also offer aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and food-sealed bags. These items play a vital role in preserving and storing food, ensuring that clients can maintain the freshness and longevity of their supplies.

The availability of aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and food-sealed bags at JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry demonstrates our commitment to supporting the client in every aspect of their food needs. These simple yet crucial items contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of those who rely on the pantry’s services. Additionally, these items are not eligible for purchase by SNAP benefits.
