Help hungry people: host a food drive!

If you are looking for an office or other group summer activity, JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry could use your help. Food drives supplement the food we purchase. Large, small, birthday party, office activity, themed or not, make it fun, and help the hungry.

Organize a food drive with people from your residence hall, student organization, workplace, church or temple, civic group or club. You can collect any nonperishable items (the list here is some of our more needed items), or give your food drive a theme! Pick one category of items – household items, baby items, snack pack foods, birthday items – use your imagination!

Current needed items iinclude diapers of all sizes, kosher baby food, peanut butter, and household items such as toothpaste, dish soap, toothbrushes, etc. You can download the list pictured here and hand it out to potential participants in advance!

Please also remember the Food Pantry accepts fresh produce. Too many zukes? We’ll take them! Drop off produce and/or food drive foods at the Pantry during regular business hours, check here for times.

If you are interested in hosting a food drive, please contact Stacie Dow, Pantry Coordinator, at sdow@jfcspgh.org.
