Volunteers at the Food Pantry in December

Thank you to all the groups who helped us in December 2019! We love volunteers! Find out how you can be a part of impacting the community through our food pantry.

Community Day School

In December we had families and 3rd-graders from Community Day School volunteer for our Sunday packout! This was a great group of kids who were so excited to get started and help stock produce and the shelves! We also heard one child say, “This is way more fun than sitting at home watching mindless TV!” Thank you to all of the families who came, and we’ll see you next year!

PeerCorps through Repair the World

On December 16th we had teens involved with PeerCorps through Repair the World come to the Pantry to volunteer! Usually, they volunteer at a local community garden, but with the winter weather, they will be volunteering at the Pantry for a total of 3 times from now through February. We kicked it off on Monday by having them assemble snack packs for our clients. They accomplished so much in an hour! We look forward to having them come back in February–thank you to everyone who showed up on a cold, rainy Monday evening!

Brad & Gabi

Brad & Gabi came to the Pantry as part of Gabi’s Bat Mitzvah project! They spent an entire shift bagging up 50 pounds of quinoa for clients. They both asked so many great questions about the Pantry and our services and were so kind and engaged while here. Thanks for coming, and good luck to Gabi as she has her Bat Mitzvah in January!

Junior League

The Junior League was here in December to help pack over 600 pounds of onions and potatoes! We love having the Junior League here and seeing both new and familiar faces. We all talked about the holidays and had some fun conversations! We’ll see everyone next time!
