JFCS Now Provides Passport Photos For Immigration Clients – In House

JFCS Immigration

The purchase of photo and printing equipment, ink, paper, and other supplies made possible through the Falk Facilities and Technology Improvement Fund will enable JFCS Immigration Legal Services to produce more than 3,000 sets of passport sized photos for green card applications and petitions to reunite family members. The investment of less than $2,500 from the Falk Fund will result in savings of some $45,000 on the part of JFCS clients. (The average cost of passport photos taken in a retail store or post office is $15 per set.)

After purchasing supplies and equipment, JFCS is set to begin producing photos for clients at the beginning of January 2019.

The photos are produced at no charge by JFCS staff during appointments to complete green card applications or relative petitions.

This service saves significant time, as clients are able to take the photos on-site at JFCS. Previously, clients would meet with JFCS staff to fill out applications, go elsewhere for the photos, and then schedule a second appointment at JFCS to add their photos and prepare the applications for submission. With all of these logistics, the process could take several weeks to complete. Now, all of these steps can be handled at JFCS in a single appointment.
