Overnight Oats: Squirrel Hill Food Pantry Healthy Recipe Series

Overnight oats are a simple and easy way to start your day off right! Try this recipe below, or build your own flavors with dried fruits, nuts, seeds and spices!

Overnight Oats

Ingredients:
  • 1 jar with lid
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup your choice milk
  • 2 tablespoon nuts or seeds (try chia seeds)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1-2 teaspoons your favorite sweetener (maple syrup, honey, etc.)
  • Optional (2 tsp chia seeds, some slices of fruit, fresh or frozen berries)
Directions:
  1. Put all ingredients in the jar, screw the lid on, shake, and refrigerate. You can always add a dash of milk in the morning if you like a wetter oatmeal.
  2. The next morning, eat cold or heat in the microwave (heat to your liking but start with 1 minute).
