Kindertransport Fund

In 1938, British authorities allowed Jewish children under the age of 17 to leave areas under the German Reich and come to safety in Great Britain. The Kindertransport saved over 10,000 children, the vast majority of whom never saw their families again. This year, on the 80th anniversary of the Kindertransport, the German government has agreed to one-time compensation payments to those children.

As a beneficiary agency of the Claims Conference, which negotiated with the German government for these payments, JFCS is here to assist with the applications for compensation. Please contact Sandy Budd at 412-422-7200 or sbudd@jfcspgh.org for questions or help.
