Ways to Fight for Hunger Awareness

JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry recognizes the significance of September as Hunger Action Month. This September, we invite you to join the fight to end hunger. Your power, voice, actions, and commitment can make a difference and ensure that nobody has to face the impossible choice between food and other essential needs like medicine, utilities, or childcare.

Hunger is a pressing issue that affects millions of individuals and families across the country. It can have devastating consequences on physical and mental health, education, and overall well-being. However, by working together, we can make a positive impact and we can start locally

There are numerous ways you can contribute to the fight against hunger.

Fight hunger by using your voice!

You can start by spreading awareness about the issue. Use your voice to educate others about the realities of food insecurity and the challenges faced by those who experience it. Share information on social media, participate in discussions and encourage others to get involved.

Fight hunger by taking action!

Taking action is another vital step in combating hunger. Volunteer your time at local food banks, pantries, or soup kitchens. Your assistance can make a significant difference in providing meals to those in need. Additionally, consider organizing food drives or fundraising events to collect and donate later.

Fight hunger by making a commitment!

This is crucial. The best way is to make a change once a month. Make a personal pledge to support initiatives that address food insecurity. This can involve making regular donations, advocating, or staying up to date on food insecurity news.

Fight hunger together.

Remember, if we all come together, we can end hunger. Together, we can create a world where no one has to face the impossible choice between food and other necessities alone.
