Learn MoreUpStreet Pittsburgh offers a flexible, judgment‑free space where young people ages 12–22 can get mental health support, build coping skills, and work through life’s challenges. Teens and young adults can talk about anything on their minds, from anxiety, depression, stress, and self‑image concerns to relationship issues, family conflict, bullying, grief, and more.
For brief support, they can connect with a therapist through the online chat or stop into the office weekdays from 12 – 5 pm at 5844, Forward Avenue.
For those who prefer peer connection, UpStreet also offers trained teen mentors who provide support, guidance, and a safe space to talk through everyday struggles. Peer mentors are available via text and can help teens navigate challenges, explore resources, and connect with professional help when needed.
Whether someone needs quick support in the moment or ongoing one‑on‑one counseling, UpStreet Pittsburgh is designed to meet young people where they are and help them build resilience, find clarity, and feel less alone.

Bridge Builders is an after-school mentoring and enrichment program for immigrants (ages 5-21) that meets in-person and virtually!
The program focuses on English language immersion, social-emotional learning, and cultural exchange, helping participants build important skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Through team-building activities, workshops, and mentorship, youth are able to develop strong relationships and build a sense of community.
Kids and their families also received cultural orientation to navigate the education system. Participants also have opportunities to learn about and appreciate different cultures and perspectives, broadening their horizons and building empathy and understanding.

412Futures works with local immigrant high school students to develop career and job readiness skills, and opportunity to explore post-secondary education options and vocational opportunities.
Our counselors address language and cultural barriers to help refugee and immigrant young adults succeed in higher education and future employment. The curriculum includes sessions in developing resumes, filling out job applications and applying for financial aid, as well as field trips to colleges, trade schools and local employers.

Summer Employment:
Learn and Earn annually places and supervises more than 50 high school students in internships at a variety of local employers from both the private and non-profit sectors. This program gives young adults their first exposure to the responsibilities of holding a job, and allows them to explore various careers. The students are also paid through the program and receive career guidance from our career counseling staff.
