We couldn’t do it without you

You can help us make sure our community has sustainable food to feed their families by making in-kind donations, volunteering, or hosting an event!

At JFCS, we are committed to helping people in need in our community, and we know that your donation can help us get there.

Your gift goes to work immediately, directly helping those who need it most. Select JFCS, or designate your gift to JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry in the designation drop-down menu on the Donate page.

As we reach out to more people in our community and help them overcome barriers that keep them from being able to provide for themselves and their families, we will continue to rely on the generosity of people like you who are committed to making a difference.

In-kind donations are welcome at JFCS. We accept donations of nonperishable food, personal care items and diapers at the JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry. Please call the Pantry Coordinator at 412-421-2708 to schedule a drop-off.

Want to help our community feed their families? The JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry provides supplemental food to the community to combat food insecurity – and we need your help! Take a look at the below volunteer opportunities to get involved!

Take on a Shift: The JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry is open every weekday, and helps provide for over 700 families. Shift volunteers sign up to help us with this on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis. Help us unload, organize and stock food, guide clients through their pantry shop, explain food options to clients, and weigh out their groceries before they leave.

Deliveries and Pickups: Sometimes reaching out also means reaching outside of our building! Deliver pre-made bags of food to apartment buildings, pick up food gathered by various synagogues around the High Holidays, and pick up donated bread from our partner vendors to be distributed to the Pantry’s clients.

Please email Teresa at trodgers@jfcspgh.org or register here. if you’re interested in this opportunity!

The JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry is looking for opportunities to talk with people in our community about food insecurity. We’re hoping to reach out to people at synagogues, temples, churches and workplaces. If you could help us out by inviting us to speak at your place of worship or workplace, we would greatly appreciate it!

Please email Cristy Lagnese at clagnese@jfcspgh.org to learn more!
