JFCS Immigration Legal Services CLE Event

August 24, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Every year approximately 500 refugees are resettled in Pittsburgh from countries like Burma, Bhutan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, and others.  All of them are eligible and encouraged to apply for the permanent resident status after one year in the US and most come to the Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS) for legal representation to do so.

With the partnership and support of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, we will be hosting a free CLE event to help non-immigration lawyers  learn more about the process of refugee adjustment of status.

If you have an interest in learning more about how to help immigrants and refugees in the region, consider joining us.

Please come to our CLE on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 via zoom for a free CLE Credit

To register for this webinar:

https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_TqILz-FNQg6E8PMGHvSnIw

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

Additionally, if you attend the webinar and are interested in  applying that knowledge. JFCS will also be hosting a Clinic day allowing volunteers  to work with an individual refugee (or refugee family)  and help them complete their Adjustment of Status Application(s).

For the Clinic:  JFCS staff will be on site and available to answer questions, provide interpretation services  and offer additional advice and assistance throughout the clinic.

The Clinic event will be held at JFCS on Friday, August 31, 2022 at 1pm.  We will send an invitation to the Clinic event at the completion of the CLE.
