About Us
Jewish Family & Children's Service of Pittsburgh (JF&CS) is an independent 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children, families and adults of all ages throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area by providing psychological, employment and social services.
For more than 70 years, JF&CS has remained vital and relevant—and always available to respond, no matter how difficult the problem—by continuously adapting our programs and services to meet the changing needs of our dynamic population. We are known as a leader in providing innovative and effective social service solutions to problems facing families and individuals of all ages.
Accreditations, Licenses and Memberships
- Accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Families and Children
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare for Outpatient Counseling; and Adoption, Foster Care and Private Child and Youth Services
- Recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals of the U.S. Department of Justice to provide immigration services to foreign-born individuals with limited financial resources

Funding
We are a beneficiary agency of the United Jewish Federation, the Jewish Healthcare Foundation and United Way of Allegheny County; and also receive funding from the government, foundations and generous individual and corporate contributors.
Client fees are based on a client's ability to pay. Some
programs are offered free of charge. As a licensed outpatient
mental health facility and approved service provider for most
insurance and managed care plans, certain services may be covered

Eligibility
JF&CS is a non-sectarian social service agency providing psychological, employment and social services. Services are provided without regard to race, gender, color, national origin, ancestry, religious creed, disability or age. Various programs have specific eligibility requirements that must be met for participation.
