Welcoming Week brings together organizations, communities, and neighbors of all backgrounds to build connections and continue to make cities like Pittsburgh a more welcoming place. 

Join us for some of these great events and initiatives to help welcome our newest neighbors and continue to make Pittsburgh a place where everyone can belong.

Coming Home to Pittsburgh: Local Immigrant Leaders Share Their Stories
9/12 @ 4pm – Hear immigrant leaders talk about building their home and community in Pittsburgh. Speakers include: Pralad Mishra (Bhutan), Hanifa Nakiryowa (Uganda), Noorulhaq Fazly (Afghanistan), and Zermina Sarwari (Afghanistan). Register here >

Looking for Pro-Bono Attorneys & Legal Volunteers for Afghans
We need pro-bono attorneys and volunteers who can fill out legal paperwork to assist with family reunification, SIV applications, and green card applications for Afghan refugees in Pittsburgh! Register to help our legal team.

Write Welcome Letters for Afghan Refugees
Help us welcome our newest neighbors with encouraging letters welcoming them to Pittsburgh! The letters will be compiled into a book for them, and you’ll receive a PDF copy in your inbox! Head to jfcspgh.org/help and choose “Write welcome letters.”
