Make the difference

Feeding people facing hunger is about more than simply providing food. It’s about providing wellness, nourishment and strength. This is why 39% of the food we distributed last year were fresh fruits and vegetables!

By offering healthy food choices at our pantry, we empower the people we serve to make the best nutritional choices for themselves and their families.

Take part in making the difference for your neighbors and plant a row this year!

Email Stacie Dow for more information at sdow@jfcspgh.org

We’ll accept any fresh produce except lettuce or sprouts. Some easy-to-grow plants are tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, or fresh herbs!

We will accept donations during pantry operating hours. We recommend calling before harvesting if you are a new grower and need help deciding on when to harvest.

Yes, we would be happy to connect you with an expert gardener and answer any questions.

Of course! All donations are extremely appreciated. Your harvest is going to make a really big difference and bring nutritious, fresh produce to the table of our neighbors in need.

Consider containers, instead! They are great for gardeners who don’t have a yard. Check out this website to get started: https://www.gardeners.com/how-to/urban-gardening-with-vegetables/5491.html

Yes! However, we only accept fresh produce, nothing that is bagged or has been processed.

Absolutely! If you receive your CSA and there is “just too much produce”, please feel free to drop it off during our hours of operation.
