On Thursday, October 3rd, 2013, from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59:59 p.m., JF&CS supporters will have the opportunity to increase the impact of their support to JF&CS during The Pittsburgh Foundation’s annual Day of Giving.
Every donation made to JF&CS during The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Day of Giving on October 3rd will be matched on a pro-rated basis; making your gift go even further and helping JF&CS continue to improve the lives of the families and individuals who turn to us in times of need.
We’ll be emailing you on October 3rd with an easy link to the PittsburghGives website, but we wanted to give you the heads up now, and explain how the Day of Giving works:
- Only credit card donations of $25 or more received through www.pittsburghgives.org during the 24 hours on October 3rd will be matched. Donations by check, cash or stock will not be accepted online and will not be counted as part of the Day of Giving.
- Go to www.pittsburghgives.org and follow the instructions. Make sure to select Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Pittsburgh.
- Each gift is tax deductible. If you’ve designated Jewish Family & Children’s Service as beneficiary of your generosity, JF&CS will receive your donation from The Pittsburgh Foundation, along with the pro-rated “bonus” from the match pool. Note that your credit card charge will display as a donation to “The Pittsburgh Foundation” on your credit card statement.
You cannot designate a specific program within JF&CS on the PittsburghGives website, but if you would like us to direct your gift to the Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry, or a specific program or service area, just email us and let us know your intention!
The work we do is instrumental in proving to individuals and families who are struggling that a better day is always within reach, and your support is essential to keeping that work going. Whether we are helping a family in need put food on their table, finding a forever home for a child through Family Hope Connection, helping an older adult maintain the highest level of independence and remain in their home safely for as long as possible or helping people get back to work at the Career Development Center, every one of us at JF&CS is committed to improving lives – every day, for every client – and we thank you for helping us to deliver on that promise.
