Linkedin 101 – A workshop from the JFCS Career Development Center

The following is from JFCS Consultant Kaitlyn Myers-Brooks.

2020 has been an extraordinary year of challenges and changes, as we navigate a world in the midst of transition due to both a global pandemic and ongoing efforts to stand up against racism. It can be challenging to think about a job search in the midst of our present reality, and yet for many of us, it remains a necessity to find ways to meet our financial needs, and remember our personal, professional motivations.

With this in mind, JFCS Career Development Center has developed our first video-based workshop that you can access at any time, to make the most of your job search today, from your own home. This video, “LinkedIn 101,” has been broken down into three parts to cover the basic key aspects of using this important website:

1) Establishing your online brand to let recruiters and colleagues know who you are, what you can do, and where you would like to work in the future.
2) Networking with others virtually, to make vital connections with other professionals who can help you with your journey to your next career.

3) Finding new job opportunities through LinkedIn’s job search feature, because now is the time to apply, and keep an eye on the changing professional landscape.
