This past Tuesday, May 15th, JF&CS held our 2012 Annual Meeting, where we shared our accomplishments and progress over the past year and kicked off our 75th Anniversary celebration.
We had a wonderful group of friends, donors, supporters and staff who joined us that evening!
At the meeting, JF&CS honored 2012 Mermelstein Leadership Award recipient and JF&CS Board Chair Joel Rosenthal. Staff Service Recognition went to child therapist Barbara Wollman, LCSW, RPT-S, who has more than 30 years of service with JF&CS.
Special recognition was also given to the Consecutive Giving Club, a treasured group of steadfast philanthropists who have made a gift to JF&CS for twenty or more consecutive years.
JF&CS was honored with a Proclamation from Pittsburgh City Council sponsored by Councilman Corey O’Connor and co-sponsored by Councilman Bill Peduto, declaring May 15th as “Jewish Family & Children’s Service Day” in Pittsburgh. And in honor of their extraordinary service and leadership to JF&CS, legislative citations were presented to Joel Rosenthal and Barbara Wollman, sponsored by Pennsylvania State Representative Dan Frankel.
Our Annual Meeting marked the kick off of our 75th year of community service, and the message of JF&CS’s 75th anniversary, “For 75 years, we’ve proven that a better day is always within reach,” speaks to the work of JF&CS, which has touched the lives of thousands of our friends, neighbors and relatives. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we’re proud of our 75-year legacy of making a profound impact in peoples’ lives, and we are committed to providing support, service, and continued innovation in light of evolving community needs and challenges for the next 75 years and more.
We’ve accomplished quite a lot in 75 years, we have you — our donors, supporters and friends — to thank for your dedicated support!
Many thanks to those who joined us that evening! If you weren’t able to join us, take a look at some of the pictures below — and visit our Facebook page for more!
