The Risks and Rewards of Gig Work

January 28, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

A JFCS Career Development Center Event:

Companies are engaging contingent workers more than ever, and plenty of people are making the leap to being their own boss as freelancers, consultants, seasonal workers, and other temporary or on-demand professionals.

Contingent work gives companies the ability to hire the right talent at the right time, so they have the flexibility to get the skills and availability they need. At the same time, workers enjoy increased job mobility. But what are the hidden costs of making this change?

Join this powerful panel to hear more about the risks and rewards of this work. With Pittsburgh’s Financial Empowerment Center, Chatham’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship, the Career Development Center at JFCS, Neighborhood Legal Services Association, and United Steelworkers.

Presented by Jeanne Williams – jwilliams@jfcspgh.org.
