Overcoming the Emotional Fallout of Job Loss

August 7, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

A licensed social worker and a career counselor will be co-facilitating this bi-weekly topical small group format with a 30 minute presentation introducing the subject, followed by a brief self-assessment, group discussion, and feedback. This presentation brings to light the emotions we experience resulting from a change, such as loss of a job, and helpful techniques and coping mechanisms to lessen the impact and allow participants to more easily transition into a healthy job search process. Participants should experience a sense of normalcy in realizing they are not alone in the need to look for a new job, nor are they alone in the emotions they are experiencing right now.

Presented by Pam Harris – pharris@jfcspgh.org
