Emergency Food Drive Update

Seventeen organizations and schools answered our call and are holding emergency food drives! We have already received almost 1,400 pounds of food and over $12,000 in community donations and grocery gift cards, and some collections continue. We are grateful to all the organizers and donors, and grateful the shutdown has ended.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed over the next deadline, and keeping our eyes on our SNAP recipients who were paid February’s benefits January 18th to make sure they can make it through February. Government workers and contractors who are still struggling because of the shutdown are welcome to contact the Pantry (412-421-2708) for emergency food to tide them over.
