We host quarterly resource-sharing and networking events via Zoom!
Throughout the year, JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry hosts resource-sharing events through our Let’s Talk! series. At the end of March, we will be hosting our fourth event via Zoom. Our topics have ranged from housing insecurity to utility moratoriums to domestic violence. We invite local expert speakers to provide information and resources on topics that are relevant to critical needs clients. We invite case workers and staff from over thirty local organizations to the event and lead breakout rooms to encourage discussion and resource sharing.
At our last event, we surveyed attendees about any changes in the prevalence of domestic violence cases they are seeing. The results showed that just over 60% of attendees saw a slight increase in DV cases while nearly 30% saw a moderate to dramatic increase in cases. Based on these results, we reached out to the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh who will now be speaking at our next Let’s Talk event at the end of the month. This event series has proven incredibly valuable in keeping case workers and staff informed and connected in order to better serve at-risk communities.
