Legal Services
JF&CS staff assists individual and families who have immigrated to the United States and Pittsburgh, helping them with immigration legal issues and to obtain citizenship. Services include:

Representation at Naturalization Interview
Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC)
Serving populations with limited English proficiency, the LITC informs immigrants and internationals about the importance of filing taxes and the immigration consequences of not doing so; provides direction on obtaining tax credits and Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN); and referral to Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites in Pittsburgh for free tax preparation. LITC hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Appointments are necessary.

PRIAC works collaboratively with the Career Development Center and the Welcome Center for Immigrants & Internationals, all are a division of Jewish Family & Children's Service.
Jewish Family & Children's Service of Pittsburgh is recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals and U.S. Department of Justice to provide legal immigration services to individuals with limited financial resources.
The JF&CS Pittsburgh Refugee & Immigration Assistance Center (PRIAC) services are offered at nominal fees by accredited representatives and immigration attorneys to individuals of any race religion or nationality.
