Food Pantry
Jewish Family & Children's Service operates the Squirrel Hill Food Pantry, offering help, support and hope to the hundreds of families and individuals in our community who rely on the emergency and supplemental food we provide.
We serve more than 700 people a year, half of whom are seniors; many of whom are working families with children, were recently laid off or are disabled.
All families and individuals who meet income requirements and live in the 15217 area—and those outside 15217 who keep kosher—are eligible. We are the only kosher food pantry in all of southwestern Pennsylvania and serve all who qualify for food assistance—without regard to race, gender, color, national origin, ancestry, religious creed, disability or age.
